Pelletized or Clumping Cat Litter? The Choice is Yours!

The battle over the best type of natural litter is over, at least for Catalyst Pet customers.

Catalyst made a name for itself in the pet aisle with its revolutionary, sustainable, granular cat litter made from upcycled pine wood. Customers raved about the superior odor control, incredible clumping, and the all-natural ingredients (no clay here!). However, some Catalyst customers just aren’t clumping litter connoisseurs, and we heard this loud and clear.

The result? We’ve introduced Catalyst Pet’s Wood Pellets Litter!

“We made this pelletized litter for our customers who love having a high quality, sustainable, natural litter but prefer an option that does not track or clump,” says Cammie Kaminski with Catalyst Pet. “We really take our customers' feedback to heart. They asked for this, and we think they’re going to love what we’ve engineered.”

Made of 100% pine, this large-size pellet litter has zero tracking, no dust, and provides excellent odor control without any chemicals or dyes. It also has no added ingredients, making it an ideal option for cats or kittens with sensitivities, allergies or asthma.

Like other pelletized litters on the market, Catalyst Pet’s Wood Pellets Litter is one of the most efficient and user-friendly litter options. It’s simple and convenient to keep the litter box fresh between full cleanings. Unsoiled litter stays at the top while soiled litter becomes sawdust and falls to the bottom of the litter box when shaken. This also provides excellent odor control. The pelletized litter works great in a sifting litter box but can be used in a regular litter box as well.

Because this litter is made with large pellets, they don’t get stuck in your kitty’s toe beans or track outside the litter box, which is a huge plus for pet parents who like to keep a tidy house. “Does a cat really live here?” your friends might ask incredulously.

“The added benefit to this is that no litter is wasted, and it keeps good pellets from being thrown away, saving our customers money in the long run,” says Kaminski.

By contrast, Catalyst’s Clumping Litter (a.k.a. granular litter) hits the mark for kitties with sensitive paws or cats that just don’t like the feel of pelletized litter. It also may be preferable for cat parents who prefer scooping clumps, as it works by absorbing urine and drying out feces, forming an easy-to-remove clump. Scoop and replace the spent litter with fresh.

“Our original clumping litter is low-dust, low-tracking, lightweight and it has excellent odor control. It’s really a matter of customer preference, and we’re very excited to provide two excellent options,” says Kaminski.

Both the clumping litter and the pelletized litter are now available on Catalyst’s website via subscription or a one-time purchase and are conveniently delivered to your door. Read more about our original formula here. Then pick the litter that’s right for you, and conveniently order online.

Why You Should Leave Clay Litter in the Dust

Most cat lovers are not aware that clay litters are made of sodium bentonite, a mineral that is strip-mined and not biodegradable, but that’s not where the problems end. Clay litter can also be unhealthy for your furry feline.
